Human Trafficking

What has caused the recent rise in Human Trafficking in the United States?

I will have to find sources that give hard facts and figures about the growth rate of kidnappings and human trafficking cases in the US. I will need a source that explains the significance of human trafficking and how criminals profit from it. I will also have to find a trained professionals opinion or viewpoint on the issue and why they think it is growing.

International Human Rights Reasearch Proposal

I would like to research human trafficking and it recent growth around the world.
I have always been amazed that such a huge illegal market is right under our noses. So many people go missing and it is never in the media. I have been inspired by the movies: Spartan , Trade, and Eastern Promises. I would like to research how this industry has changed since the release of these movies and what is being done to stop it.

This article discuses how a rebel leader who promoted rape was captured and sentenced.  This is a small victory in a huge war of murder, rape, and slavery.

This article discusses how a women was arrested for no charge and held in jail for more then 48 hours because she took a cell phone video of a man throwing a rock at the presidents car who was beaten, arrested, and "died". As of now, no one knows what her status is and her family is eagerly awaiting her release. If anything, this article is an example of the corruptness of the Congolese government.

This article is describing how the UN is cutting budget for the peace operation in the Congo. Military forces that are supporting the UN effort are pulling out due to budget cuts, leaving the UN forces at a disadvantage.

VOA news september 7. A reverend, terry jones, Is leading a Koran burning demostration on sep 11. He says that he is promoting religous tolerance and he is able t do this becuase of our first amendment. General patreaus announced on the news yesterday for mr. jones to not do this brash and hateful action becuase he will but american soliders lives at risk. This is an important story becuase it is relevant to current events. and this is another developemnt in the amercian islamophobia crisis. The reverend is obviously narrowminded and off his rocker. He is going to insult and defame a entire population of people, when the people that he hates are only 2% of that population. He is also providing propaganda for the insurgents to use against America.

Class summary

I learned that Canada is a country, not a French colony. I learned that colonialism and imperialism is not the same thing. That imperialism is not always direct control of a country. I learned about the Berlin Conferance. But i still have questions about why America still has colonies and what resources did we want to get out of the Philippines. I want to learn more about the romans and how friggan smart they were even though they existed thousands of years ago. They are my favorite empire of all. Sorry America

The article is discussing the finding of the bodies of murder migrant workers. This even happened five days ago and is still considered breaking news. I would like to know why exactly the migrants were murder, instead of speculation. and i would like to know more information on the drug cartels and have more light draw to their actions.
